A partnership is a collaborative effort between two or more businesses where they support eachother. Some of the means of this support can be joint advertisements or noting each other's involvement in their products for the purpose of advertising each other, offering reduced rates for partnering companies, producing products or services specifically tailored to partner's needs, and offering special situations to customers who use several companies within a partnership.

The objectives of a partnership situation are additional avenues for advertisement leading to increased business, increased productivity from using tailored products, reduced overhead costs, and a system of support.

The Contract

A partnership is also a legal and binding agreement between two or more parties. Because this is a friendly cooperation between businesses, formalitites feel out of place. Unfortunately, they are a legal necessity. However, to maintain the spirit, we try to keep all paperwork to a bare minimum.

A contract stating the parties involved and any agreements for services, products, discounts, or advertisement between them must be stated. The document must be signed and witnessed with a date of signing. Now, the paper between businesses binds them together, but it is not the strongest bond. You will find that the benefits far outweigh the rigidity of the document. If not, then the partnership was in vain and so the contract will be nulled.

We don't want you to feel tied to the paper, but allow you to use it as an outline of what you plan to do together. Use it as an opportunity to illustrate how verbosely you can work together.

The Communication

To keep concepts and ideas smoothly streaming between partners, meetings must be planned and noted on the contract. Recommended is quarterly or monthly meetings to review the aspects of your cooperative efforts, how these have been implemented, and continued and new needs that should be addressed.

On a more formal level, these meetings also inspect if the terms of contract are being met.

Failure of Compliance

Note that this is a strong connection you are forming and that you may be forming a lot of these connections. Therefore, word of not fulfilling what you have agreed to do or performing substandardly will be noticed and probably will be discussed with other organizations in partnership directed through this collaboration. Reciprocally, working to assist each other better than what was expected will also be noticed and will be positively rewarded.

On the legal level, failure to comply with a written contract is a punishable offense resulting in monetary damages and you may be prosecuted in civil court. If you feel that you will not be able to fulfill the terms of your contract, please contact us or the organizing body to review it. If you feel that you are partnered by a company acting delinquently, report to the organizing body.
