The first thing I addressed is the concepts of computer graphics and how they make the transition from 1's and 0's to realistic 3D elements on a screen. You can read more about graphics on the Graphics link.

We reviewed the story concept, the idea of working between each other (programmers interface with graphics, artist with 3D modellers, etc), and that we would have a meeting every other Friday in room 436a at 5:45.

Next, we went around the table and everyone introduced themselves, explained what they will be doing in the project, and what assignment I had assigned them. I had assigned these tasks because they were non-trivial (they had to be done eventually), but they did not require a lot of technical knowledge. They also gave me an idea of what people were capable of doing.

Tony then took the floor to set up some deadlines for the next steps in the project. The first task was for me to write a specification for what the engine would need. Then, I divided the engine list between Tom Turner, Shadab Ahmed, and I. We would determine the final engine by 2/26/99. We also decided to have an object model meeting on 2/27/99. Finally, all sketches and ideas need to be in from the artists (Jeff, Elizabeth, by name) by 3/16.

We also decided we needed the main points of the game's story by 2/27/99, before the object model meeting.
